Ojai show
Here are the pictures from March 29 in Ojai, CA. The local boy scout troop 503 has put on the show for six years, now. The weather was nice and sunny, and the troop provided coffee and doughnuts (and hot chocolate!), which is a rodders perfect diet!! A good group of Rodfathers and friends were at the show, and a good group of them took a trophy home! Enjoy the pictures, and in case you forgot over the empty season, just click the link! http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/OjaiShow?authkey=Gv1sRgCLPJtsHS_6HVVA&feat=directlink -Nikki-
D. Scott Went to the Redondo Beach show at the Pier! Said he talked to Pat Aust, host and RB Councilman and we will be invited next year! Only 80 cars are invited.
Announced at the show was about the rumor that this was the last Moorpark show, which has been confirmed as being FALSE! The show will go on and I'm glad cause I really enjoy this one. Well enjoy the pictures! Click the link to view- http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/RoaminRelicsCarShow?authkey=MWT6vRGdRPQ# -Nikki-
October 12, Throttler Car Show.
The link below will take you to my picture from the Throttles Picnic was October 12, 2008 at Johnny Carson Park in Burbank. A number of us Rodfathers meet at the Coral Cafe for breakfast. After the good food with good friends, we all proceeded in a somewhat orderly fashion to the show. It was a great show with a lot of real hot rods. I hope you enjoy the pictures. -Nikki- http://picasaweb.google.com/johnspics100/ThrottlersPicnic2008?authkey=GVDqX373Br0
October 4Santa Barbara Special Olympics benifit show
The weather seemed to scare away some but it wasn't bad, cloudy but still a good turnout. The show is put on to benefit the Special Olympics, Southern California chapter. Trophies are given, but only choices of the sponsors, no classes. The view was great, and the cars were nice. That's all that really matters. Enjoy the pictures! October 5 The Westlake Auto Show
Here are the pictures from the Westlake Auto Show. The show was Sunday October 5 in Westlake. Considering the weather the day before, the day was beautiful. Although a few other shows were going on the same day, this show was very decently sized. I hope you enjoy. The Harbor Run, put on by the Ventura Vintage Rods, was last Sunday, September 14. Many Rodfather's members were there, and a few new ones were taken in, but that's a different e-mail. Unfortunately, even with the large turn out of Rodfather's, we lost our usual 'Club Participation' award. Now, I'm not saying that's all we go for, but I'll admit it is a nice title. The trophy was instead won by the Road Kings, who usually go to beat us. To quote my own father "This shouldn't happen again." Remember, that was him, not me. It is a bit sour however, that we only missed it by TWO cars. Moving on... The Harbor Run was and always is a fun, and great gathering of classic cars. I hope you enjoy the pictures, and maybe we can re-gain our title next year. For this album, there are two links, because of a little flaw on my part. Also behind the camera in these pictures was Chickey Hernandez. Thanks Chickey! Enjoy, everybody! Click the links below to viewhttp://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/HarborRun?authkey=6KQisUiX2qc#
This is our favorite show of the year, even with bad economy plenty of die hard's still showed up and it was probably the best weather we've experienced with a nice breeze cooling it down. This is a three day show so if you can't see it all in one day you can come back for more. This is a big photo album, you can run it like a slide show or just view the line up, so get comfy and enjoy! -Nikki- Click the link to view-http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/LaborDayCruise?authkey=m9sVHRMgqPM#
THIS GROUP OF PIX IS FROM A SHOW AT TOM SPARKS HOUSE LAST WEDNESDAY IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD. HIS GARAGES AND INCLOSED AREAS HOUSE 20 TO 25 CARS PLUS INSIDE HIS HOUSE.. HE'S 85 AND STILL STRONG These photos were sent in by John Kaufman, enjoy!
These pictures are from the Rods & Roses show held in Carpinteria this past Saturday. The day before the Lions Club hosted a BBQ for show participants at Lions Park, the food was great and you couldn't beat the price (free) with great music and drinks. After the BBQ there was a slow cruise through the town. About 10 rodfathers were in attendance and several took home merchant awards, the weather was perfect and the cars were at the shows max. Also since the show fell on Gilbert's birthday he wanted to thank everybody for making it a great day. Click the link to view- http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/RodsRoses?authkey=yPCezEix0f8
June 14th & 15th 44th Annual LA Roadster Show & Swap Meet
These photos came in from John Hyde. Attached are my pictures from the 44th Annual LA Roadster Show & Swap Meet at the Fairplex in Pomona. CA.
The show was Saturday & Sunday June 14th & 15th, 2008. It is a free show for owner of finished roadsters and Cabriolets to 1936. I attended Saturday with Al Cronk in his 1928 Ford Roadster Pickup. Sunday, Mike Montelone did the driving with has daily driver.
My parents decided to get out of the heat and swung by and picked me up at S.Barbara on the way up North to check out the Pismo Beach Classic Car Show. Plenty of cars and bikes attended, easily over 1,000. They had cars parked everywhere from the main streets to side streets corner store lots along the boardwalk and on the pier. Lots to do with a marketplace on the boardwalk and really good food to choose from. It was a nice way to kill a HOT Saturday. June 8th Road Kings Picnic
Quite a few Rodfathers were at the Road Kings Picnic, but for those of you who weren't, or if you didn't get the opportunity to walk it all, here are some pictures for you. The show was free, and no awards were given out. Plenty of cars were in attendance, considering how many other shows were going on, probably because it was free. Also, the show is in the beautiful Johnny Carson park. Food was sold, and tons of vendors were on hand. Well, I think this will be the last e-mail from PhotosByNikki. I'll be going to my grandparents house in Santa Barbara for summer break, therefore most of the e-mails you get will be from my secretary/mom, Rita Sanchez. She will do her best, but I'm the evil mastermind behind PhotosByNikki. (Click it...)http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/RoadKingsShow?authkey=LA0ScON6kUA -Nikki-
As you may know, Saturday May 24 was the beginning of the Paso Robles show moved to Santa Maria. Although the Paso location was free for spectators (this one got $5 for parking and $12 to enter), the weather certainly was better in Santa Maria. My parents and I went as spectators to see how the first year in Santa Maria worked out. It must have worked, because there was supposedly 1000 cars there! There was also supposedly a year cut-off at '65, but there were quite a few cars '66+. Us Sanchez might try to get the '67 Riviera in next year, but who knows. It rained a bit through Santa Barbara on the way there, and this might have discouraged some cars. The show was still great, and I hope you enjoy the pictures! http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/SantaMariaCruisinNationals?authkey=InojQUsV8Sc
May 18 - 12th Annual NSRA Appreciation Day at California Car Cover Hello again everybody. Well, the weather has cooled off a bit since Sunday when some Rodfathers were out in Chatsworth for the annual California Car Cover customer appreciation day. It was hot! But, the show was free, and there was a raffle and free lunch, so it was bearable. Most people started their day around three or four, some lucky few got to sleep 'till 5. And when they got to Chatsworth, it was worth it. There were some beautiful cars there and free food ( ! ). Hope you like the pics!
More pix frim the 12th Annual NSRA Appreciation Day at California Car Cover just got in this second batch of photos for California Car Cover from Chickey Hernandez today. There are some more car pictures, along with the Rodfather members in their natural habitat at the show. Enjoy! -Nikki- http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/CaliforniaCarCover2?authkey=pWwuwgOwKQg
May 4thClassic Chevy ClubBoys Town Show Hello again everyone. Last Sunday on May 4th, the Classic Chevy Club of southern California held their 26th annual show at Boys town. Many Rodfathers were in attendance, in fact, our club took home the award for club participation with 19 cars. Some other Rodfather members took home their own awards for their cars (in the pictures). The weather was a little cold for Chatsworth, but it wasn't too bad. There was reasonably priced food, a raffle, beer garden, 50-50 giveaway, and a crate motor (crate included) was given away in a special raffle. All proceeds benefited Boys town. Overall, the show was fantastic. Hope you enjoy your virtual tour of the show! (Now you click )http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/ClassicChevyClubShow?authkey=6r6dNdf6rF0
April 25-27 NSRA Bakersfield Hello once again everyone, from the pictures it looks like Bakersfield had quite a few Rodfathers on their hands last Friday through Sunday (25-27). These pictures are yours courtesy of John Hyde and Roger Barker. It looks like the weather was good and hot! I don't know much about the show, but I hope you enjoy the pictures. Click to enjoy!http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/NSRAShow?authkey=E7rt3PFyI9w -Nikki-
April 27 Burbank Kiwanis picnic car show. Hey everybody, as promised, here are the pictures from the annual Burbank Kiwanis picnic car show. The show was on the 27th at Johnny Carson Park in Burbank. The Kiwanis were selling hot dogs and hamburgers with fries, soda and chips. The show was packed and the live music, well, could have been better. But we were there for the cars, and they were well worth it. There was also a raffle, and a silent raffle with pretty good prizes. Hope you enjoy the pictures! http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/KiwanisCarShow?authkey=5aHMU96QYxA -Nikki-
April 20 JALOPY JOES OPEN HOUSE Jalopy Joe hosted his first annual Car & Bike show on April 20 in Ventura. The show included a car show, best bike, and Pin-up girl contest. The entire event took place in the Jalopy Joe's parking lot, and the street running in front of the shop. In order to park more cars than expected, the parking lot for a Junior High School and church were also used. Overall, it was a great (and slightly crowded) show. Here's a few pics from before my battery died about twenty minutes in.http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/JalopyJoes?authkey=I2oiyOnSoMY
April 26 BACK TO THE BEACH The Back to the Beach show at the Ventura County Fair Grounds was last Saturday, April 26. The show was slightly smaller than some may remember because it fell on the same day as the big Bakersfield show and the Laughlin Bike Run. Back to the Beach included vendors with everything; a silent auction; trophies; live music and around two hundred beautiful cars.http://picasaweb.google.com/Kul300c/BackToTheBeach?authkey=_HTg8IX84lk Look forward to a regular sized e-mail with the pictures for the Burbank Kiwanis picnic. -Nikki-
